Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Clasper is your family's private space. Your photos, recipes, messages, and memories belong to you — not us. We can't see your content, we don't want to, and we built it that way on purpose.

1. What Gets Stored

When you sign up and use Clasper, here's what gets stored:

• Your account: name, email, and password (your password is encrypted — even we can't read it)
• Your family's content: photos, recipes, messages, events, memories — everything you and your family create inside your hub
• Your preferences: settings, theme choices, and cached content stored on your device so the app works fast

2. What We Do With It

• Keep your hub running and your account secure
• Sync content between your family members
• Make the app better over time

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Ever. No exceptions.

3. How It's Protected

Your data is stored securely with row-level security — meaning each family's data is completely walled off from every other family. Even if someone tried, they physically cannot access another family's content. Passwords are hashed (scrambled beyond recognition), and every connection uses HTTPS encryption. We can't see your family's photos, messages, or anything else — and that's by design.

4. Your Family, Your Data

• Only people with your unique Family Code can join your hub
• No family can ever see another family's data
• We don't look at, read, or access your family's content — it's yours
• You can request a copy of your family data by contacting us
• You can delete your account and data by contacting us

5. Children's Privacy

Clasper supports kid and teen accounts within a family hub. These accounts are created by a parent or guardian who manages the family hub. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent. The parent/guardian who creates the hub is responsible for managing their children's accounts.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Clasper uses browser local storage (not tracking cookies) to save your preferences, cache content for offline use, and keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics that follow you across the web.

7. Third-Party Services

Clasper uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase – database and authentication
• Vercel – hosting and deployment
• Unsplash – stock imagery on public pages only
• UI Avatars – generated avatar placeholders

These services have their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data required for them to function.

8. No Ads, No Tracking

Clasper does not display advertisements. We do not track your behaviour for advertising purposes. We do not sell data to advertisers. Your family hub is a private, ad-free space.

9. Terms of Use

By using Clasper, you agree to:

• Use the service for lawful, family-friendly purposes
• Not upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Keep your Family Code private and share it only with trusted family members
• Be responsible for the activity on your account
• Not attempt to access other families' data

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

10. Disclaimer

Clasper is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive to keep your data safe and the service running smoothly, we are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or any damages arising from the use of Clasper. We recommend keeping your own backups of important family content.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Clasper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Canadian Privacy Law

Clasper is operated from Canada. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.

13. Data Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, non-identifiable data may be retained for service improvement. Backups containing your data are automatically purged within 90 days of deletion.

14. Age Requirements

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Clasper family hub. Children and teens under 16 may use Clasper through a kid or teen account created and managed by their parent or guardian within an existing hub. Parents are responsible for their children's use of the service.
